Sometimes, it feels like planning your next travel adventure is almost as fun as the trip itself – almost! Researching the things you are going to see and do, whether that be in Copenhagen or Cairo, and putting together the perfect itinerary is so exciting. So, whether you are a seasoned traveler, or you are new to the game, here are five travel adventures you’ll love planning.
A safari
A safari is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure and one of the best things about it is that there’s so much you simply can’t plan! Animals are so unpredictable, so who knows where they will be on each day – luckily you can leave that in the hands of your expert guides, who’ll show you how to track footprints (and dung!) in order to find the coolest animals the game drives have to offer.
All you have to do is decide is what kind of safari you want – something authentic and simple, like a tent camp and a 4×4, or if you’d rather a bit more luxury with a lodge, a cook and a boat safari!
Volunteering
It feels good to give back and enjoy seeing the world while doing something to help others. Whether you want to help animals, people or the environment, there is a volunteering abroad program for you. Be sure to do your research before you embark on a trip like this, as you’ll want to be sure you’re making a positive impact, which isn’t always the case.
Backpacking
There is something so freeing about booking a one-way ticket, packing up a backpack and seeing where it takes you! Thailand and Australia are particularly popular for solo backpackers, so there’s plenty of research out there to help you plan your trip.
Some people like to plan meticulously, whereas others prefer to choose where they are going to once they’ve decided to move on. You could get a temporary job, perhaps as a laborer or bar staff, to fund this long-term travel and help you meet new people.
Interrailing
Traveling around Europe via train is another great way to see several places at once and make the most of your time away. This is a trip that will require some planning, working out the order of places you want to visit, where you are going to stay and how long you intend on staying in one place. Again, you can book everything in advance, or play it a little fast and loose and see where the adventure takes you.
A cruise
The best thing about a cruise is that it is as much about the journey as the destination! It’s a fantastic way to see several places on one trip, but rather than spending days inside airports, you’ll spend your travel time in the pool, enjoying delicious food, and watching shows.
One of the best aspects of a cruise is that it really forces you to make the most of your time on land, so get planning what you want to do on your day excursions!
These are just five ideas of epic travel adventures that will be a lot of fun to plan – and even more fun to go on! Where to begin? So which adventure are you planning next? Let me know in the comments.
