17 Photos to Inspire You to Travel to Colombia
After years of dreaming about traveling to Colombia, I finally made it!
Traveling through Colombia was a delight for my palate, eyes, and my heart. The country full of contrasts, from the Andean Cordillera, gorgeous beaches on the Caribbean Coast, mysterious Amazon rainforest to the exotic Pacific Coast.
Colombia is a melting pot of Spanish, African and native American cultures. It is one of the most extraordinary and diverse sites of South America.
I had a pleasure to backpack Colombia for 45 days and it was one of the most unforgettable experiences in my life. My journey began in Cali, the city well-known as the world’s capital of salsa and an important cultural center. Then, I moved to Medellin, the beautiful city of the eternal spring. I took a ride in famous cable car hovering over the city. I explored Comuna 13 district, named once the world’s dangerous neighborhood in the World. Then, I decided to travel along the sun-soaked Caribbean coast, where I had a chance to become certificated scuba diver. I also discovered a little fishing village called Rincon del Mar – the Colombian’s best kept secret.
After pretty relaxing time on the coast, I moved to the South of Colombia. I visited Barichara, the well – preserved colonial town with the prettiest cobblestone streets and San Gil to discover the ancient ruins. I finished my treasure hunt in multicultural Bogota, where I met lots of backpackers and digital nomads.
Whether it is Colombia or any other country, travelling truly inspires me. After my backpacking trip around South America, I sum up all my 3 years of traveling and reflected, how has travel changed me.
I think that Colombia is must see place in South America. Here is a collection of my favorite photos of Colombia to inspire you!
